2023 has been a year of remarkable achievements and significant milestones for Bright Star Auctions. As we reflect on the past year, we are excited to share our accomplishments that have not only set new benchmarks but also positioned us for even greater heights in the future. Here's a look at our highlights from 2023.
Loren Indiana Auctioneer Champion
President Loren Beachy clinched the Indiana Auctioneers Association Bid Calling Contest at the annual IAA convention in November. This accolade is a testament to Loren's exceptional skills and mastery in auctioneering, highlighting our leadership in the industry. Congratulations, Loren!
AMM Designation from NAA
In April, Wayne Nisley was awarded the Auction Marketing Management (AMM) designation by the National Auction Association (NAA), joining an elite group of 137 auctioneers. This designation underscores our commitment to staying ahead of the curve in auction marketing strategies, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the industry.

Record-Breaking Wood-Mizer Sale
The sale of a 2019 LT 70 super hydraulic, wide throat, portable band mill for $142,500 in June at the Baxter Lumber liquidation auction in Heaters, WV, set a record for Bright Star for the highest-selling Wood-Mizer at auction. This demonstrates the supply versus demand rule, as the Wood-Mizer company had a long wait list for new machines, thus increasing the need for used machines. See the machine here
First Auctions at Ozark and Wooster Yards
September and April were landmark months as we conducted our first heavy equipment consignment auctions at the Birch Tree, MO, and Wooster, OH yards, respectively. These events were warmly received by the community, laying the foundation for future growth and expansion in these areas.
IronRing: Monthly Virtual Auction Rebranding
In June, we introduced IronRing, a rebranding of our monthly virtual heavy equipment consignment auction. The introduction of reserves has attracted high-dollar assets, and we are excited about the growth potential of IronRing in 2024.

Transition to a Bi-Monthly Schedule
In July, we transitioned to a bi-monthly schedule for our Lake Erie and Michiana consignment yards, offering sellers quicker turn around options to sell their equipment. This change has been met with positivity, and we look forward to continued growth at both auction yards in 2024.
Expansion into Canada
December marked our inaugural sawmill liquidation auction in Quebec, Canada. This venture presented unique challenges, including language barriers and logistical hurdles, but it also opened new avenues for growth in online and phone bidding auctions.
Supporting Feed My Starving Children
Our commitment to showing Christ to the world led us to support Feed My Starving Children in May 2023. Through the sale of die-cast toys representing the forestry industry, we have contributed to this Christian nonprofit dedicated to seeing every child and person around the world healthy, nourished, and whole in body and spirit. Buy a toy at our auction and help support this worthy cause!
As we look back on 2023, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunities and challenges that have propelled us forward. Bright Star Auctions is poised for an exciting future, and we are eager to build on these achievements in the years to come.
